This is a great way to reconnect with family and friends amidst your crazy schedules in the outdoors. Invest in Quality Food
There’s nothing wrong with easy snacks and finger foods, but why not take it up a notch? Investing in a few sharable gourmet dishes will really make the picnic stand out and keep your guests at the event for longer.
We recommend surprising your family with a veggie, chicken, or seafood platter. If you don’t want to spend all day in the kitchen, you can opt for quality seafood delivery and receive your meal directly to your blanket.

Also, some form of dessert is a must for picnics. It doesn’t need to be extravagant like a cake—this can be hard to transport and messy. Cupcakes adorned with sprinkles and candies will make for a lovely and simple treat. Just make sure you have a secure portable cooler to keep the icing from melting.
Create Small Decorations
Dress up your outing with some stylish napkin rings and tablecloths. Get some plates that won’t break but look nice. Fortunately, there are plenty of cute dishes made with durable materials that are perfect for picnics.
You can also get artificial plants at your local store to place on the corners of the blanket. This will also serve as weights, so your blanket and food won’t go flying in the wind but also make the area more beautiful. Don’t forget an umbrella for shade!
Just a few decorations can make all the difference. However, you can have as many or as few as you want. It’s your picnic!

Scout a Nice Location
A scenic view makes everything better. Maybe there’s a beach or lake nearby. Perhaps you’d rather have a view of the woods. Maybe there’s a nice park close to your house. Whatever you choose, make it somewhere that’s easy to navigate. Your wonderful atmosphere will be ruined if you’re afraid of tripping over and hurting yourself or ruining your carefully prepared food.

Make sure there’s a clear shot back to the car. Keep it so that you don’t have to walk too far with your delicious food.
A Nice Picnic Blanket
The design of your blanket can liven up the event. You don’t have to settle for something dull and colorless. Choose a pattern that speaks to you. For a fun family activity, you could even construct and design a blanket of your own. It brings a family closer together when they do a craft together.
This could become something you use later, like a warm blanket in winter, or something you proudly display in your living room. In the meantime, it’ll bedazzle your outing and stand out in your pictures.
Bring Pillows and Cushions
Finish off your perfect setup with creature comforts. These items will give people the opportunity to lie down if they wish to. Bring a few more just in case people want to set their plates on them. This will bring the food closer to help prevent spilling.

You might also opt to bring something for extra padding while you sit. Some throw blankets will allow people to wrap themselves up if they’re cold or want to be cozier. You’ll create a comfortable haven you’ll never want to leave!
