Organize a camping trip that neither of you will ever forget. These are 5 things to consider when planning an outdoor camping proposal.
A proposal is a perfect opportunity to demonstrate just how much you love and care for your other half. You want it to be special and meaningful, but above all, you will need to ensure that you are both comfortable in your surroundings. If you both have a passion for Mother Nature, what better place to profess your love for one another than outdoors? Let your adventurous side run wild and organize a camping trip with a difference that neither of you will ever forget. There is so much to think about when it comes to planning an outdoor camping proposal that it can be difficult to know just where to start. We’ve brought together a list of five things you will want to consider before taking the plunge.

Choose the Location for Your Outdoor Camping Proposal
Deciding where you want to go is the most important factor when it comes to planning your campsite proposal. Not only will you want to find a spot that’s suitable for pitching your tent, but you will also want it to be a meaningful and picturesque place to provide the perfect backdrop for your engagement photos.

Do you want to head to the coast for a dreamy beach proposal? Or are you looking to hike through the countryside before setting up your tent in a remote location to make for an intimate and private proposal? It is important to pick a spot where you will both be comfortable, and if you can combine a meaningful hobby or passion of theirs, then this can make the proposal even more personal.
Be Prepared for Public Interference
When planning a proposal outside, you will always have to consider the impact of passers-by. If you are heading to a well-known viewpoint or popular area, you will have to contend with the prying eyes that a proposal inevitably attracts. Especially when you take out that gorgeous vintage ring and get down on one knee, all eyes will definitely be on you.

For some people, this won’t be an issue and, in fact, they might prefer to make it a more public affair. But if you are at all anxious about other people ruining your big moment, then be sure to find a remote spot. Or, if it’s a popular tourist attraction you’re intending to visit, then plan an early morning or late-night proposal when fewer people will be around.
While it might be difficult to tempt your other half out of the tent for an early start, sell it as if you’re going to watch the sunrise, and then ask the all-important question just as the light spills over the horizon.

Plan the Delivery for Your Outdoor Camping Proposal
When proposing in the great outdoors, the options for your method of delivery are literally endless. If you’re a particularly active couple, why not research local hiking routes and take on a scenic trek? Be sure to find the perfect spot along the route where you will plan to reveal the all-important ring, and perhaps make sure your partner hasn’t got their heart set on being dressed in their Sunday best for the engagement snaps!
Alternatively, throw caution to the wind and take to a local lake or river and sail, kayak, or cruise along the water. NB: you will want to be 100% sure they will say yes to avoid an awkward boat ride back the other way!
Plan for All Weather Conditions
One of the main potential drawbacks of an outdoorsy proposal is the weather. Since you can’t control this element, it is advisable to plan for all different scenarios to ensure nothing can rain on your parade. Ensure you’ve packed plenty of spare clothing and footwear, and if you haven’t used your tent in a while, make sure it’s still waterproof and the anchor lines are still intact. In case of torrential weather or storms, it can be useful to have a plan B in place if it no longer becomes feasible to camp outdoors.

The Perfect Outdoor Camping Proposal
If you’re staying on a campsite, make sure to call up in advance and ask for some cooperation in setting the perfect scene for your proposal. Think tea candles, fairy lights, music, and anything else that will add that special romantic touch to your big moment. If you want to create a Hollywood proposal, why not bring along a portable projector and play your favorite film to set the mood? With a little prior planning, you can be sure to make your partner feel as if they’re the main character in their very own movie.
