I love discovering great wines and some of my favorites—not surprisingly—come from Napa Valley. One of the things I love most is the passion that comes with some of the smaller wineries. Getting to know the winemakers has been such a privilege for me as I travel. So, I was thrilled to discover recently that Vincent Arroyo Winery, located in Calistoga, is going to be offering a couple of winemaker dinners in Texas, giving me a chance to visit with the winemakers here in the Dallas area. I will be sharing more about Vincent Arroyo Winery following that event in March but was so taken with the story of the winery that I wanted to introduce the winery to you. Vincent Arroyo wines are available online, so you don’t have to visit California or attend one of the Texas dinners to sample the product of passionate winemakers.
About Vincent Arroyo Winery
Calistoga, located in the northern part of Napa Valley, is known for great Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah. That’s no exception for Vincent Arroyo Winery, which has been voted #1 vineyard and winery in the USA by Travel + Leisure. “Great wines start in the vineyard,” says Matthew Move, winemaker for Vincent Arroyo Winery. “We are lucky to control the winemaking process from vine to wine, using the fruit from our estate vineyards. It’s easy to make great wine if you start with great fruit.”
The Arroyo family, now with the second generation at the helm—Matthew is married to Adrian, daughter of founder Vincent Arroyo—has been producing highly sought-after wines from the estate vineyards in Calistoga since 1984.
Vincent Arroyo Winery, best known for its Petite Sirah, crafts wine from nine varietals. The Cabernet Sauvignon blends are some of the winery’s most popular wines.
The Wines of Vincent Arroyo Winery
I’m delighted that I will have a chance to sample a few of the signature wines of Vincent Arroyo Winery during the upcoming winemaker dinner—the first that Vincent Arroyo is offering in Dallas.
I will be excited to taste the excellent food pairing at Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas on March 10, 2018, with 2016 Chardonnay, 2015 Merlot, 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Winemaker’s Reserve, 2015 Petite Sirah Greenwood Ranch and 2015 Petite Sirah Port dessert wine.
Vincent Arroyo Winery is also sponsoring a wine tasting on March 3, 2018, at BraeBurn Country Club in Houston, which is an annual event.
While both winemaker dinners are sold out this year, be sure to check Wander for my overview of the wines following the dinner. If you want to check out the wines yourself, you can order them online here. You can also visit Vincent Arroyo Winery in Calistoga when you’re in Napa Valley.
This is a sponsored post. I am being provided with complimentary dinner to sample the wines. I choose the best brands that I believe will fit my readers’ interests.
Great article Susan. We look forward to seeing you in Dallas.
I’m looking forward to it! I love hearing the stories behind wines!
