Honor Mansion is a “resort inn” in California’s Sonoma County. There’s no place like a community that grows up around the wine industry. The people love their land and enjoy good food and good wine. Healdsburg is just that way and Honor Mansion is a great example of a perfect place to stay to explore the town and Sonoma County’s wine country. Honor Mansion is a beautiful, stately home under towering trees, waiting to give you a romantic stay in wine country.

There are several different room options at Honor Mansion. You can choose to stay in the mansion for a more “B&B” feel. However, I stayed in Vineyard Suite III, nicknamed “Romanza.” The Vineyard Suites are my favorite rooms, set back just a bit from the main house. My suite had a king-size canopy bed, plush chairs, wet bar, bistro table, soaking tub with a delightful selection of bath salts, a gas fireplace, and a wonderful double-headed shower. The linens were luxurious and the bed was one I didn’t want to leave — except for the wine tasting the next day.
The best part of my Vineyard Suite, however, was outside on the back patio. The private patio had a couple of lounge chairs, and a large hot tub. After a day of wine tasting and shopping, a dinner in Healdsburg, then a nice cup of coffee from the main house, it was delicious to climb into that hot tub. After a nice soak, slipping between those luscious linens on that king bed was just too decadent.

The grounds at Honor Mansion rival the rooms. I loved the outdoor patio where we ate breakfast each morning. It was a bit nippy, but the koi were swimming in the pond and the air was fresh. The gourmet breakfast was delicious. I swear that someday I will make the signature Honor Mansion Eggs Benedict and the Grand Marnier French Toast. Of course, mine will never taste as good as they did on that patio, but it will bring back some great memories.

Susan, these articles are just fantastic!! There are so many places I have seen from your articles that I think would be so very much fun to visit! The articles are so very informative and the pictures are great! I just want to go everytime I look at one of them!! Keep writing, maybe a lot more people will see them.
