Arctic glaciers, pack ice, fjords, icebergs, mountains, polar bears—a dream come true when you experience an Arctic cruise.

Because it’s the trip of a lifetime to unique and rare territories, polar cruises are increasing in popularity each year and are popular with all ages. Tours travel to Norway, Greenland, Spitzbergen, and Iceland. An Arctic cruise offers the unforgettable chance to get close to craggy fjords, snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and even icebergs!

Polar Arctic Cruise: A Unique Experience at the Top of the World

The white lands of the Far North and the Arctic region have a special magnetism. Traveling to the Arctic Circle is an incomparable experience, bordering on the unspeakable. An exploration, the discovery of a new world, an adventure. Those bucket list experiences engrave indelible images in memories and enrich new emotions.

Wander with Wonder invites you to experience the unique: tread the most remote lands of the globe, scan the horizon of an icy desert, dazzle yourself with the great white silence, be dazzled by the infinity of the day, and meet communities around the world.

Amazing Animals to Discover on Your Arctic Cruise

Is the polar landscape a great white desert? Certainly not! And it is in the ocean and on the coast that life takes refuge. Whale watching is a popular activity on Arctic cruises.

And, of course, the polar bear! The skilled seal hunter whose favorite natural environment and hunting ground is the ice floe, whose surface area sadly shrinks further every year. Don’t wait too long to possibly catch a glimpse of this majestic beast.

Another emblem of the Far North, the walrus, is a giant cousin of seals. You can recognize the walrus by its tusks, which can become impressive with age. We should also mention the little ringed seal, our favorite prey of the bear, and the bearded seal, three times larger.

You can easily encounter Beluga whales, narwhal, baleen whales, and Arctic dolphins in these cold, nutrient-rich waters. Other whales you might encounter on an Arctic cruise include the humpback whale, minke whale, fin whale, and blue whale. On rare occasions, you might spot a Greenland whale.

The arctic avifauna is primarily represented by seabirds—guillemots, penguins, puffins, fulmars, and kittiwakes—whose spectacular habitats are the sheer icy cliffs. But you’ll also be able to discover birds in the tundra, where birds nest in colonies in the expansive tundra. You’ll discover geese, ducks, small waders, the discreet rock ptarmigan, the lesser snow bunting, and of course the arctic tern, known for its long migration!

Experiencing the Northern Lights on your Arctic Cruise

Finally, an Arctic cruise offers a chance to see one of the world’s most unforgettable wonders—the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis. First discovered in the 17th century by Galileo Galilei, this magical display of lights happens when the solar wind interacts with the Earth’s magnetic field. Seen most often in March, April, September, and October, they offer an unparalleled wow moment. Imagine traveling onboard a luxurious cruise ship, sipping a champagne cocktail, admiring the breathtaking celestial spectacle!
