Enjoy travel and uncover the world. This guide to seeing the world has some of our tips for even travel beginners. With a little bit of preparation, you can start seeing the world.

Travel can be one of life’s most rewarding experiences. There are so many places to see and experiences to uncover. At times, it may feel a little daunting, especially if you have limited travel experience. Look at these ideas in our travel beginner’s guide to seeing the world to help you gain confidence and start trotting the globe in no time at all.

Guide to Seeing the World: Travel by Tour

Traveling is all about the details, whether it’s a short trip to another state or a more extensive trek to a new country. Coordinating itineraries, plane tickets, hotel reservations, currency exchange, budgeting, time zone differences, and proper packing techniques are some things to consider before departure. It can be stressful if you’re not used to planning logistics.

If that’s the case, why not travel with a tour company? Tour companies take care of the travel details for you. They can set up your transportation and provide all the information you need about the places you’ll visit. Chances are you’ll meet all types of travelers, from experienced to beginners like you. Although the tour company takes care of much of the logistics, it’s still a great way to get your feet wet and learn how to travel.

Guide to Seeing the World:  Travel by Boat

From Mexico’s sandy beaches to Thailand’s exotic cities, you can take a cruise vacation to many places in the world these days. If that seems too big of an endeavor, take baby steps and jump on a cruise within the continental United States. Pick an exciting destination, such as a cruise to Alaska, where snow-capped mountains and arctic blue glaciers surround you, and you have amazing wildlife spotting opportunities.

Cruises are an excellent way for beginner travelers to gain confidence because they are straightforward to plan. They are all-inclusive and generally require fewer logistics than other vacations. All you need is internet access, and then you can choose destinations, itineraries, cabin accommodations, and other details. Many cruise ship companies offer transportation packages to help you get to and from the port. Booking airfare to your cruise destination is relatively easy. It sometimes comes with a price reduction because most cruise ship companies have partnerships with airlines and can negotiate set fares based on volume.

Guide to Seeing the World: Travel By Car

The great thing about road trips is that you have more control over the planning and logistics. If you want to take a short drive to a nearby bed and breakfast to spend the night, you can. You can leave when you want or drive further away if you feel inspired.

Logistics for car travel are relatively easy because it’s all about gas. All you have to do is determine your starting point and ending point. Once you have the mileage, you can estimate what the gas will cost. Add hotels, a food budget, and other foreseen expenses, and you’ll have an accurate estimate of your trip’s cost.

Make sure you have a good GPS system in place because, next to gas, it’s the most important thing you’ll need for your trip. It will help you find hotels and attractions along the way. And be sure to check out Wander for some of our favorite hotels in destinations you might choose to visit.

Packing is easy — just grab a suitcase and fill it with the clothes and toiletries you’ll need, and that’s it. It doesn’t have to be glamorous. You’ll be living out of your suitcase while on your road trip. Have a blast! There is nothing more exciting than the open road.
