The lazy river is one of my favorite places to relax and hang out while enjoying time with my boys. They love to speed down the giant Serpentine Water Slide, so it is a win-win for us!

The best way to avoid getting too hot in the sun is to rent out a private poolside cabana. During the summer, the JW Marriot Phoenix Desert Ridge offers a Splash into Summer Package with a resort credit good for food, beverages, spa treatments, and other activities. A resort fee is also waived with this package.
Great Wolf Lodge Scottsdale Offers a Fun Family-Friendly Staycation
Great Wolf Lodge – Scottsdale is a must-see spot for families in the Valley. We’ve stayed on the property several times and have enjoyed it each time. They offer exceptional activities for kids and wonderful relaxation spots for parents.
My kids, who are a little older, love to play the MagiQuest Wand & Wizard game. There are extra fees and costs associated with MagiQuest, but you can purchase a package that includes this activity and others onsite.

The indoor water park is a great spot to keep cool while splashing around. We love that there is plenty to do, even if you don’t want to spend all day at the water park. You’ll find a variety of other fun indoor activities. There are always special summer activities for the kids each summer through August.

Chill Family-Friendly Staycation at Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass
The Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass is a wonderful spot for the family to get away in their backyard. South of Chandler you’ll find time for a little R&R for the parents and the kids get a chance to explore the pool, water slide, onsite cultural activities, and the kids’ adventure club.

It is marvelous for parents and kids because of the family-friendly Oasis Water Park. Oasis is open from early morning until late evening – so there is a convenient time for everyone.

Head to Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort for a Family-Friendly Staycation
Another spectacular staycation spot we have found here in the valley is the Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort. It has numerous family-friendly activities, especially by the pool, which is a great way to stay cool in the hot Phoenix summer.
If you plan to spend time at the pool, I suggest renting a cabana for the day. It’s the best investment you’ll make! With temperatures over 100 during the summer days, having somewhere with guaranteed shade and cooler temperatures is a must-do. There are several restaurants onsite, some are more upscale but there are options for everyone, including small children. The hotel offers terrific summer deals for families.
