Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, is a large resort, but the staff works to create a comfortable atmosphere that you’d find in a smaller property. I’ve stayed at the resort on a couple of occasions and find each stay there relaxing and refreshing.

During my last stay, I stayed in a beautiful junior suite. It was filled with natural wood, leather, and that wonderful Westin Heavenly Bed®. I wanted to pick up that little catalog and place an order for one while I was there. The signature White Tea fragrance of the Westin rooms made me relax the minute I stepped inside. My suite had a gorgeous view. It looked out over the resort’s golf course and on to the mountains. There’s no wonder why people want to visit Arizona.

Westin Kierland had spaces tucked in around the property to sit and enjoy the Arizona weather. I loved the patio around the fire pit. It was the perfect spot to sip a cocktail, enjoy the evening’s appetizers, and people watch. At dusk each day, I listened to the soulful sounds of  the bagpiper playing.

One of my favorite things at Westin Kierland was eating at Deseo, the resort’s Latin-influenced restaurant, and one of several dining options on site. Not only was the food fabulous, but it was great fun to sit at the ceviche bar and watch the guys and gals in the kitchen prepare dinner. I highly recommend the Millionaire Tacos and the bread is like nothing I’ve had anywhere else. Click here to read about my dinner at Deseo.

After my day at the spa (it was incredible), time in the pool, some quiet time spent wandering the grounds, an hour or so shopping at Kierland Commons just two minutes out the front door, dinner at Deseo, drinks in the bar after dinner…I was thrilled to get back to that Heavenly Bed®.

Just to keep the experience fresh in my mind, I keep my White Tea candle from the resort by my bedside. I’m still working on that Heavenly Bed…
