Visitors and locals alike find the variety of wine and spirit tastings at Scottsdale resorts surprising. We have so many fun and unexpected options that it’s hard to pick a favorite. Fortunately, you can try them all, and here are some to start with.

Alto Ristorante e Bar at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort at Gainey Ranch thrills foodies and oenophiles alike with their Alto Wine Dinners. Guests will enjoy a multi-course dinner complete with wine pairings from the night’s featured vintner.

La Hacienda at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess serves up more than 240 varieties of tequila. The Tequila Goddess teaches you to sip, savor and enjoy this complex Mexican spirit. For dessert, try Café Incendio featuring Patron XO café and cream with a fire show presented tableside.

Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North offers complimentary wine tastings every Saturday afternoon featuring lesser-known wines sure to tempt your taste buds. Afterward, catch the sunset at Onyx Bar & Lounge, one of my favorite spots to relax and gaze over Scottsdale.

Sanctuary Camelback Mountain serves up spirits and good times Saturday at noon with Mixology 101 in jade bar. Discover the art of cocktails in this interactive class while sipping three or four fun concoctions.

Westin Kierland Scotch Library, offering more than 250 different Scotch choices, is open each evening off the lobby from 5 to 9 p.m. The Evening of Scotches, priced at $50 per person with advance reservations, is every Friday at 6 p.m. Scotch Ambassadors take you on a guided tour through the world of fine Scotch, including a tasting flight, small bites, and plenty of Scottish lore.
