Start with Nautical Nightmares at Mystic Seaport. You’ll find a chilling experience awaiting you as you wander through streets of yesteryear led only by lanterns. When you’ve solved one mystery, it’s time for another at Sea Scare at Mystic Aquarium Institute for Exploration. This annual event is usually held the weekend before Halloween. The two-day event has many ghostly offerings as costumed visitors of all ages wind through dimly lit paths snaking through the aquarium. Last year’s event featured a variety of skits performed by the staff and aquatic residents of the aquarium. There were also over 1000 carved pumpkins, game stations for the kids, a haunted storyteller, a “scary zone” for older kids and plenty of activities in the classrooms.
