I love a spa day just about more than anything else I can imagine. My travel life is hectic and I can find my Zen moments…or wow moments…at a spa. One of my favorite spas in Arizona is Joya Spa at Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia. And, the best part, is that they always have some amazing spa specials to help make this gorgeous spa even more of a treat.

Ultimate Relaxation at Joya Spa

I always feel so relaxed when I arrive at Joya Spa. The Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia feels as if you have stepped back in time. It’s a Spanish-inspired resort filled with beautiful rooms and great food, so I always feel good there anyway. But, even if I’m not staying, I love to stop by for a day at the spa.

After checking in, I ascend the spiral stairs to the second level spa that has an exotic Moroccan theme.

The first stop is the Joy of Intention room. You choose from one of five healing stones that sets your intention for the day: Tiger Eye (healing), Blue Lace Agate (calming), Rhodonite (nurturing), Rose Quartz (love) or Hematite (benefits logic, aids creativity, enhances finances). You can look at the meaning of each, the pretty colors, or let your hand just reach in and pick a stone. Relax, clear your mind and then enter the Joy of Purification room.

A gorgeous 55-pound quartz crystal sits at the center of the Joy of Purification room and radiates light in different colors. Place your hands on the crystal if you like, breath in slowly, exhale out your stress and cares and prepare to relax for the day.

You should always arrive at least 30 minutes before your appointment so you have time to check in, get your locker and get changed, but I suggest arriving earlier. The spa has so many amenities and, with the purchase of your treatment, you can luxuriate at the spa all day. It is open from 8:30 am to 7 p.m.

Exploring Joya Spa

Inside Joya, you will find a lovely lounge where you can wait for your therapist (there are separate spaces for men and women) that is again Moroccan themed. Here, you can find water and tea. The quiet space is ideal for finding that calm space before your treatment begins.

There is an indoor sauna, whirlpool, steam room and fitness center available for you to use.

Also indoors, and one of my favorite spaces at any spa, is the Whisper Room. This is the ultimate relaxation area. There is a women’s only area and a co-ed area. These delightful beds are separated by curtains. I always allow at least an hour after my treatment where I can pull the curtains, snuggle under a blanket, and slip away into dreamland.

There is also an outdoor, rooftop pool at Joya Spa, which is accessible only to those using the spa. This has to be one of the best viewing spots in all of Scottsdale. You can lounge by the pool or relax in the water, order a drink or lunch, and enjoy great views of Camelback Mountain.

Book a Suite Stay at Joya Spa

For something really spectacular, you can book a luxurious spa suite at Joya Spa. Enjoying these suites offers one of the most bespoke spa experiences anywhere—with killer views to boot.

The most beautiful is the Grand Palace Suite. An 850-square-foot suite with a king-sized bed, two treatment tables, a fireplace, private restroom and an infinity bath, this is the way to create an unforgettable spa day.

The suite doors can then be opened to Joya Rooftop Terrace, giving you open access to the pool. You can rent the suite by the day or half day.

There are several other suites available, including the beautiful Joya Suites with private terraces, day bed and outdoor tubs.
