Canyon Suites is a luxury boutique hotel within The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona. This unique concept gives you all the amenities of the sprawling resort, but with the personal touches of a high-end boutique hotel. I was completely blown away by my experience at Canyon Suites.
From the moment you book your room at Canyon Suites, the experience is remarkable. You work with a guest ambassador, who assists in your every need, ensuring that your arrival goes smoothly. I pulled up to the gate and the guard directed me to the Canyon Suites rather than the Phoenician's front desk. The guest ambassador assisted with my check-in, showed me around the property, and got me situated in this beautiful space I called home for a couple of nights.
My suite was about 1200 square feet — the size of many three bedroom homes. It was decorated in chocolate and pale blue and had a balcony big enough for a party. I love the classic elegance of Canyon Suites. The room itself was huge, beautifully decorated with designer touches, and complete with a dining room table, full living room, comfortable king bed, and two baths. There were iPod docking stations, wi-fi capabilities, flat panel televisions throughout. But the experience of the hotel was what really made this stay so incredible. The package as a whole put it over the top.
I enjoyed tea service in the morning, served in my room, in sterling silver. Cheese and wine in the afternoon was a relaxing treat and a great way to kick off the evening. The tasting featured local Arizona wines, which was a perfect chance to sample some of the local up-and-coming vineyards. Dinner reservations were easy. I simply contacted my guest ambassador, who made all the arrangements. When I booked a spa treatment at the Phoenician, I made my way down the hillside for an afternoon at the spa, but it was such a pleasure to simply call Canyon Suites for a ride back up the hill when I was ready to return to my suite in that post-massage haze.
The highlight of my stay at Canyon Suites was spending the day at the private Canyon Suites pool in my own cabana, alternately floating around in the pool, sipping my Bellini. The rugged mountains were set against a brilliant blue Arizona sky, with the pool's water rippling in the slight breeze and the butter yellow umbrellas reminding me of the beach-front escapes dotting the French Riviera. How could Canyon Suites at The Phoenician NOT be in my top 20?
