Welcome to the most festive season! We are celebrating with 12 Days of Christmas cocktails. Be sure to follow along with my 12 Days of Christmas Cocktails on Wander.

On the fourth day of Christmas, I sipped The Afterlife thanks to a recipe from Avión Tequila. This is a simple recipe and a great way to enjoy one of my favorite spirits—tequila. The optional crème de cassis is a perfect addition. It is a liqueur made from black currants, so it adds a lovely fruit taste to your tequila.

Creating The Afterlife

This is a fun, cool cocktail that I imagine might be ideal for a Christmas Day poolside in a warmer climate. I remember all those Christmas Days in Arizona, sitting on the patio after opening presents, with the sunshine warming our hearts. I could sip an Afterlife and be quite happy.

Ingredients
  • 1½ part Avión Silver
  • ½ part Lime Juice
  • 3 parts Ginger Beer or Ginger Ale
  • Optional: Splash of crème de cassis (¼ part)
Directions
  1. Rim a highball glass with salt/colored sugar mix.
  2. Add contents in glass.
  3. Add ice and garnish with lime wedge or wheel.
