This spring, The Art of Ice Cream Experience put out the call for local artists to leave their mark at the Instagrammable pop-up and the call was swiftly answered by Valley native and self-taught acrylic artist, Josh Levario. Upon seeing Levario’s impressive, large scale works the choice was clear to put the paint brush in his very capable hands.
Born and raised in Avondale, Levario obtained his real estate license at just 19 years of age, yet art remains his true passion. Thanks to friend and photographer, Felipe Valdez, who tagged Levario in a post he saw online, Levario became aware of the artists’ contest at The Art of Ice Cream Experience.
The canvas was a 7 foot tall by 20 foot wide wall in the Milkshake Room, a dream for Levario which instantly ignited his creativity upon seeing the colorful and nostalgic space. Over the next several weeks, Levario devoted hours after his day job working in phases to create the intricate milkshake-themed scene filled with bold colors and subtle shapes that draw in the eyes of the viewer.
With just a handful of weeks remaining for the ice-cream themed pop-up exhibit, now is the perfect time to take in Levario’s milkshake masterpiece and explore The Art of Ice Cream one last time before it melts away into the Valley sun.
