Press Release

This spring break, El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort is offering non-stop fun in the sun for families who are looking to get outdoors and enjoy Arizona’s mild spring weather with horseback rides, mountain bike adventures, poolside activities and rates starting from $239 per night.

Nestled at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains, the newly renovated El Conquistador Resort is heating things up for spring breakers with an array of “uniquely Southwest” experiences. Located on property is an 18-horse stable that offers guided horseback trail rides, riding lessons and family-friendly adventures. Spring in Tucson is also an ideal time for guests to take advantage of mountain biking and hiking with trailheads located just off the resort grounds. Those looking to explore can enjoy two hours of complimentary mountain bike rentals, join in on a scheduled hike or walk or arrange for a private guided hike.

Family Fun

After a morning of exploration, families can retreat back to the resort where kids and the kids-at-heart can participate in poolside games and splash around the newly redesigned Desert Springs Oasis, featuring sparking pools, a 143-foot water slide, a fish-shaped children’s pool with interactive water features and a waterfall-fed cold plunge. While the little ones are at play, parents can relax and lounge poolside with their favorite cocktail and enjoy light appetizers. The afternoon is also the perfect time to observe the resort’s Hummingbird and Butterfly Garden that attracts more than 14 species of hummingbirds and features a copper fountain and an array of desert plants and flowers that nourishes the indigenous wildlife year-round.

As the sun begins to set, families can continue to enjoy the 70-degree weather and spectacular views at a variety of dining options including light meals at the newly updated Colibrí lobby lounge, or on the patio of the resort’s signature restaurant Epazote Kitchen & Cocktails for innovative dishes with a Southwestern flair. On most nights in the courtyard, a native American flute player pays a melodic tribute to the day as families race to the fire pits for fireside s’mores, after-dinner cocktails for the adults and some of the best stargazing Tucson has to offer. On the weekends of March 16 and March 23, families can also snuggle up poolside and enjoy dive-in movies with featured films suitable for all ages.

El Con Kids Club

The resort’s on-site El Con Kids Club also offers full-day, half-day and hourly camp programs Friday through Sunday for children ages 4-12. Club-goers will get the chance to experience the spirit of the Old West with fun activities lead by the resort’s recreation team members. There will be new themes and activities each day ranging from cowboy and culturally themed arts and crafts to scavenger hunts around the resort property, movie nights, games and more. Kid-friendly meals and snacks are also provided for those that are enrolled in a half- or full-day program. Prices start at $45 for half-day sessions and $75 for full-day sessions.
