Range, a new modern American chophouse from acclaimed San Antonio chef and restaurateur Jason Dady, proudly opens its doors along Downtown San Antonio’s historic Riverwalk today, Monday, October 2, 2017. Range will be the first steak concept for the longtime Alamo City resident and James Beard Award “Outstanding Restaurateur” semi-finalist, who most recently starred on the Food Network’s new hit showIron Chef Gauntlet and is leading the charge in making SATX the next big food city to watch.

A distinctly Texan concept, Range will pay tribute to the Lone Star State’s rich heritage and ranching culture with world-class angus beef from 44 Farms in Cameron, TX, fresh seafood delivered daily from the Gulf Coast, and wild game sourced from deep in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Chef Dady’s chophouse menu will offer a wide selection of Texan and Midwestern beef, including special-order large formatPorterhouses and Tomahawks, complemented by profoundly Texan Snacks, Small Bites, Sides, and Sweets such as Beef Tartare “Parisa” with cheddar, poblano, and jalapeño; Sweet Corn Bisque with sweet basil, lardons, and marinated tomato; and Marble Potato Confit with bacon cream. Selections from the field and sea include Pan Roasted Organic Chicken Confit; Breaded Gulf Red Snapper with lemon beurre blanc; and Bacon-Wrapped Pork Tenderloin.  In addition to the regular menu, Range will also open for brunch every Sunday, during which Dady will feature a Fried Chicken & Buttermilk Biscuit Bar complete with Perrier-Jouët Champagne service for $55.

Home to an expansive collection of premium spirits, Range’s thoughtful beverage program offers hospitable and retro touches like tableside martini service, local craft beers, and margaritas on draft during happy hour, as well as an extensive wine list comprised of new and old-world selections. The sprawling two-story restaurant features a second floor, semi-open kitchen that brings Range’s chef-driven culinary prowess to the forefront. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow the vibrant bustle of the iconic Riverwalk to take center stage, while rustic yet chic decorative touches like the bubble light chandeliers, herringbone wood floors, and captivating wrought iron spiral staircase that ascends to the second floor evoke Texas’ grand past and provide a distinctly modern setting for diners.
