From parades and performances to shopping and skating, celebrate the season the old-fashioned way in The Big Apple. American holidays — from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day — have traditionally been a time for family. Home-cooked meals, beautifully decorated trees, ice skating, drinking hot cider or chocolate, listening to carolers and seeing the lights around town are traditional ways to celebrate, but often lost in today’s commercialized world. It’s a bit ironic that you can recapture that traditional holiday spirit in the heart of our country’s largest metropolis, New York City.
