David Goggins was the person to sign up for Scottsdale's Beat the Heat race, to be held at WestWorld on June 22. For Goggins, the 11.22 km race, to honor the hottest day on record in Scottsdale, will be more like a walk in the park than an endurance challenge. While the runners in Beat the Heat will enjoy a great setting at WestWorld and the beautiful McDowell Mountain Golf Club, they'll be hoping the day doesn't hit the record 122 degrees it was back in 1990. For Goggins, however, the day will be a great way to prepare for his next big race–a 135-mile run across Death Valley in July.
