Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe, is tucked into the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains just outside Santa Fe, New Mexico. I love New Mexico and the resort does a great job of making the natural landscape a part of the decor without it becoming a cliché.
My casita room there had probably the best bed I’ve ever slept on. I still need to figure out what bed it was and where I can buy one! But the bed wasn’t the only great thing about my room at Encantado. The large room had a kiva fireplace, an extra-large balcony with great views of the mountains, and the colors were soothing, calming desert tones.
In addition to the room itself, the other resort amenities were fabulous. I had a wonderful spa treatment. The spa is on a hillside and is a tranquil space with room to relax and take in the fresh New Mexico air.
I also enjoyed dining at the resort’s restaurant, Terra. I was at the resort in June, actually on my birthday, and it was a perfect time to sit by the firepit after dinner in the cool mountain air. There were a million stars overhead, the evening was quiet, and I enjoyed my glass of New Mexico’s own Gruet Sparkling Wine before returning to my lovely room in my casita.
Even though Encantado is a few miles out of town, the resort offers a shuttle into Old Town Santa Fe, and makes it easy to get back and forth. It was really a perfect way to spend a few days in Santa Fe.
