I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Auberge Ripplecove and Spa in Ayer’s Cliff, Quebec in both summer and winter. I’m in love with this place and it definitely belongs in my list of top hotel rooms.
Auberge Ripplecove, in Quebec’s Eastern Township village of Ayer’s Cliff, is the stereotypical quaint inn. There are personal touches everywhere and you can spend winter evenings sitting in front of the large fireplace or summer days lazing by the Massawippi Lake just out the back door.
I’ve seen most of the rooms in the inn, but I love Room 38 the best. I’ve stayed there on both of my visits and I would want to stay there again should I return. This suite was comfortable and inviting with its king bed sitting in front of a fireplace. There was a balcony off the bedroom overlooking the lake, a sitting room with a bay window looking out over the forest, and a large bathroom with over-sized tub.
In addition to a great room, I enjoyed everything about Ripplecove — the restaurant that features many local offerings, an impressive wine list, a wonderful lounge that was perfect for an after-dinner drink, delicious breakfasts, and a fabulous hot tub on the back deck. The gem of this property, however, is the staff. Everyone is friendly and they all make you feel as if you’ve come to visit family, but without being intrusive. I absolutely adore the general manager. I look forward to returning to Room 38 at Auberge Ripplecove.
