If you're looking for a great place to eat in Santa Fe, you might find yourself overwhelmed. There are so many great places. But if you want an absolutely stellar dining experience, head over to El Farol. This historic restaurant serves up “great Spanish food with touches of Northern New Mexico”.
While they have a variety of entrees sure to leave your mouth watering, their signature is the slate of Tapas. These “little dishes” are made for sharing. The best deal is a choice of any 8 hot or cold tapas, ensaladas or quesos for $53.00. It's more than enough for two people. If you're still hungry, you can try the dessert platter: any 3 desserts for $19.00. My favorite was the Pinchos Morunos – Moroccan spiced pork skewer with harissa. I also enjoy the Pato Asado (roasted duck breast with Moroccan carrot sauce) and the Chorizo y Morcilla (authentic grilled Spanish sausages).
Be sure and ask for seating on the covered back patio. It's a lovely spot to dine. Inside, you'll find a great bar, a charming restaurant, and great entertainment seven nights a week. Don't forget the wine list, either. They have an impressive array of wines from around the world.
I definitely recommend El Farol for a great dining experience. Call for reservations. 808 Canyon Road, Santa Fe. 505-983-9912.
