The new executive chef at Café Zuzu, located at The Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, has updated the menu and pulled out all the stops. Chef Russell LaCasce and his team have created a menu that is sure to thrill everyone.

I recommend the Maine Lobster rolls. Lobster, tarragon, kewpie mayo all served up on Parker House buns with house made mini potato chips. It was light and brought the cool East Coast right to the middle of this Arizona desert.

Next try the Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Tartare. This dish is uniquely Café Zuzu created with avocado mousse, cilantro, finger lime and red Fresno peppers served with spicy chicharrones. It has a flavor profile I haven’t had anywhere else in the Valley.

I also really loved the Hudson Valley Foie Gras. Honey poached rhubarb, ginger, five spice, brioche and caramelized milk crumb. It is absolutely delightful and bright in flavor.

If you are searching for something light and refreshing during these hot Arizona nights, I would steer you without hesitation to the Burrata. This is divine. Imagine the soft creamy burrata cheese (a soft Italian cheese a bit like mozzarella) served with pickled strawberries, toasted pistachios, mint pistou, Thai basil and you can order this with or without the Noble bread.

For a main course, Chef has created something slow and sultry in the Baker’s Bacon Chop. This dish is a loin with bacon back, cured and smoked slow with a honey lacquer to create a perfect balance. Then it is plated with green harissa, burnt orange, fresh herbs, pickled chilies and, of course, pork rinds. It is bursting with flavor without overpowering!

We cannot forget dessert and the very creative Zuzu Showstopper Shake! Pastry Chef Audrey Enriquez creates a new showstopper every month and boy do they go over the top—and bring friends because this delectable treat is HUGE! The one we tried was a handmade ice-cream milkshake topped with mini versions of: a banana cream pie, banana bread, homemade vanilla wafer, chocolate dipped banana and just a drizzle of peanut butter!

If you’re looking for a lighter dessert don’t worry, she has amazing treats that will be regulars, too!

Finish your meal with the perfect nightcap in the New Fashion. Mitcher’s rye, orange bitters, turninado simple syrup and peychaud’s bitters round out a fantastic night no matter what you select from this new and exciting menu!
