Massage Envy Spa, the pioneer and national leader of professional, convenient and affordable massage and spa services, announced today the opening of the brand’s first New York City clinic in Midtown West. Additional clinics in Gramercy Park and the Upper East Side plan to open by the end of the year.
“We have been looking to develop clinics in Manhattan for some time now as part of our national expansion strategy,” said Joe Luongo, chief operating officer of Massage Envy Spa. “Now with the right franchisees in place in Manhattan, Massage Envy Spa is better positioned than ever to bring our members and guests a place to focus on their health and wellness, when and where it’s convenient for them.”

Members and guests at any Massage Envy Spa can choose from a wide variety of massage treatments, including Swedish, trigger point therapy, deep tissue, sports and prenatal. The proven benefits of routine massage include improved circulation, joint flexibility and posture, relief from pain and swelling caused by arthritis, reduced blood pressure, fatigue, migraine pain and stress, as well as improved sleep, concentration and overall sense of well-being. Other services that are part of Massage Envy Spa’s Enhanced Therapies menu include AromaTherapy, Sugar Foot Therapy and Deep Muscle Therapy, which can be added to any massage to enhance the experience and stress relief.

In addition to massages, Massage Envy Spa offers facials designed by Dr. Murad, the leader in high-performance, science-based skincare, at select spa locations. Members and guests can choose from four different Murad® Healthy Skin facials including Environmental Shield® Vitamin C, Clarifying Enzyme Acne, Anti-Aging and Sensitive Skin.

First time Massage Envy Spa franchisee Rita Ewing will use her unique combination of health, wellness and business management experience as the new owner and operator of the Massage Envy Spa in Midtown West at 525 West 42nd Street. Ewing received her degree in nursing from Howard University and is a published novelist of several books including Homecourt Advantage and Brickhouse. Ewing is the former wife of New York Knicks and Hall of Fame basketball player Patrick Ewing.

“I’m thrilled to introduce New York City to the amazing health benefits of Massage Envy Spa,” said Ewing. “It’s comforting to know that New Yorkers will now have a place of tranquility where they can de-stress and focus on their wellness whenever they need to escape from the pressures of everyday life.”
