Sushi Roku serves up the best sushi in Scottsdale from its gorgeous restaurant located on the main level of Scottsdale’s W Hotel. Sushi Roku’s entrance leads directly into the bar area that features a black stone reflective pool and a natural tree-root and concrete beverage bar. The curved grotto ceiling is spotted with river rock-like hand-blown amber glass pendant lights.
An elliptical sushi bar grounds the 6000-square-foot restaurant that is back-dropped by a wall of suspended concrete spindles lit from below.
But amid all of this natural wonder that makes Sushi Roku such a beautiful physical space, is some of the best sushi you’ll find anywhere. One of the most incredible dishes is the Japanese Yellowtail Sashimi with diced Chiles. Sliced so thin the yellowtail literally melts in your mouth, with a sauce that is divine. It offers just a bit of a kick that makes your mouth tingle in anticipation for the next bite. It’s a perfect starter at $15 and just right to share to get the evening started.
Another great sampler is the Crudo Roku on the Appetizer menu. This is a lovely tasting of six of the signature Sashimi creations and another great way to start the evening at $20.
Be sure to try a variety of the famed sushi by checking out the Twelve Piece Sushi Assortment that also includes Spicy Tuna and California Rolls. This is perfect for two people at $46.
One of the house specialties is the Filet Mignon wrapped Asparagus with Soy Mirin Sauce. Definitely not sushi, it’s still a great hot appetizer cooked to perfection.
At the sushi bar, go for the omakase (chef’s choice), where you can place your confidence in the skilled sushi chef who sends out a procession of dishes, both raw and cooked. At Sushi Roku, omakase meals are available for $60 and $80 per person.
Save room for desert. The homemade chocolate “molten” lava cakes aren’t your usual chocolate molten lava cakes. They really are homemade and are the perfect end to a perfect evening.
