I’m pretty discerning when it comes to chocolate. I don’t like plain milk chocolate. It has to be special, and usually dark, for me to enjoy it. But I was given a box of 14 truffles (nearly a pound) by the wonderful folks at The Capital Hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas. They couldn’t have given me anything I liked better. These truffles, Telluride Truffles, are without a doubt the best truffles I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating.
I’m not sure it transports me to the mountains, but they are heavenly. The prices range from $12 for 3 truffles to $39 for 14 truffles. You can also custom design a box of 7 truffles for $26. These tasty treats include such flavors as: The Spiral of Grand Marnier and Dark Chocolate; The Alpenglow of Cabernet Sauvignon and Bittersweet Chocolate; The Snow Capped with Rum and White and Dark Chocolate; Class 5 with Raspberries and Bittersweet Chocolate; Black Diamond, a blend of Tequila with a touch of Salt and Dark Chocolate; and my very favorite is the Blizzard — a delicious blend of Champagne and Dark Chocolate. Each taste is pure heaven.
