I am always on the lookout for great items when I travel. I recently found two that I’d like to share.
The first is a great journal, Best Places Travel Journal (Best Places) by Sasquatch Books in Seattle. This little journal sells for $12.95 and is divided into 6 sections: Places to Check Out (name, locati
on, recommended by, why go); Best Places to Eat (name, type of cuisine, location, icons for how you rate it and the cost, the food, the ambience, the service and other thou
ghts); Best Places to Stay (name, location, rating, pricing, the room, the hotel, the service, and room for info on the trip); Best Places to Shop (name, type of store, rating, locating, why go, my wish list); More Best Places filled with lined pages; and Resources with web sites, food/wine/beer pairings, tip guide, 3-year calendar. This is a must have for anyone who travels. My sister sent this to me for Christmas and I can’t wait to use it. My first trip with it will be to San Diego for a Writers’ Conference. You can get a copy at the bookstore or online at Amazon.
The second find was really a “find”. I was at the gorgeous Spa at Amelia Island Plantation and found their shop stocked with an incredible selection of travel items. My “find” is a beautiful, soft, durable travel pillow from Peacock Alley. The microfibre cover zips off and is washable. It’s perfect for the plane, the car, or even for my office chair. The pillow sells for $22.50 and is available online at www.peacockalley.com .
